The Santa Fe Community Foundation's community programs strive to support our strategy framework, going beyond grantmaking to address:
- Equity: prioritizing and practicing equity in our work;
- Results: working to turn the curve on priority indicators and measures progress on performance measures;
- Alignment: collaborating and aligning our work with community partners to improve results through collective efforts.
Current Programs
Dollars4Schools, an initiative of the Santa Fe Community Foundation since 2013, is a web-based funding resource for Santa Fe's public and charter school teachers. Dollars4Schools is 100% committed to student success and classroom support. Our unique grassroots structure provides teachers with a local "helping-hand." From funding teachers directly for classroom programs to providing students with school supplies, backpacks and winter coats, Dollars4schools connects community and classrooms every day in Santa Fe. Expanding Opportunity for Young Families (EOYF) aims to increase young parents of color’s successful entry into, retention, and completion of education and career pathways through alignment of services and systems innovation. It is a multigenerational approach that recognizes that supporting young parents’ educational and professional success includes supporting their young children and their families. Together with community partner organizations, young parents are co-leaders of this work to advance their families’ and community’s wellbeing and economic mobility. Read more...
MoGro, the Mobile Grocery (MoGro) project athe Santa Fe Community Foundation. is a unique venture to address food deserts by creating a viable and sustainable mobile grocery enterprise. MoGro was created by Rick and Beth Schnieders, career experts in food distribution and private philanthropists, as an innovative way to overcome barriers to affordability and access to healthy foods in economically distressed communities, starting with Native Americans in New Mexico. The Schnieders partnered with Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health (JHCAIH) to select Santo Domingo Pueblo as the first pilot community. Read more...
The Santa Fe Community Foundation's building at 501 Halona Street in Santa Fe has been designed as a learning and gathering place for the philanthropic sector. Nonprofit board and staff members, philanthropists, and the general community have attended hundreds of learning opportunities since we moved to Halona Street in 2011. Read more...

The Santa Fe Baby Fund seeks to promote the healthy development of babies and toddlers in Santa Fe. With an initial gift of $1.1 million from Brindle Foundation, a private family foundation based in Santa Fe, the Fund seeks to raise awareness about the critical importance of early childhood.
