Home Visiting in New Mexico

We have all heard the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child." Luckily, all over New Mexico, there are home visiting programs to help families learn about how to foster the health and wellbeing of their children. These voluntary programs help new babies, young children and their families, but  they also yield healthier communities – in terms of reduced emergency room visits, fewer instances of abuse and neglect and better educational outcomes. But only a small percentage of eligible families receive these services. New Mexico needs more home visiting. Help spread the word that home visiting can help all New Mexicans.
