Our Commitment to Privacy
At the Santa Fe Community Foundation, one of our top priorities is making sure the information we have about you is protected and secure. We value our relationship with you and work hard to preserve your privacy and insure that your preferences are honored. At the same time, the very nature of our relationship may result in our collecting or sharing certain types of nonpublic personal information about you. We want you to understand our privacy practices and procedures and we want to answer questions you may have. This privacy policy statement explains how we obtain, use, and protect your nonpublic personal information. Please read this notice carefully.
How We Obtain Nonpublic Personal Information
We obtain nonpublic personal information about you in the following ways:
- From you or your representative on forms and agreements (examples include verifying information such as name, address, Social Security Number).
- From transactional activity (examples include contributions and grant recommendations).
- From other sources with your consent or with the consent of your representative (for example, from other institutions if you transfer securities or funds to us).
How We Share Nonpublic Personal Information
We share nonpublic personal information with companies outside the Foundation that perform services on our behalf, such as auditors, banks, investment houses, attorneys, and accountants. Primarily, we share your verifying information. We may also share nonpublic personal information to process transactions, respond to your inquiries, or to provide information about the services we offer.
The law permits or requires us to share nonpublic personal information about our current and former contributors with government agencies or authorized third parties under certain circumstances. For example, we may be required to share nonpublic personal information in response to subpoenas or to comply with certain laws.
How We Protect Nonpublic Personal Information
We do not sell donor names or information to any firm or nonprofit organization. We do not share your nonpublic personal information with any firm or nonprofit organization for its fundraising or any other purposes, unless you or your representative explicitly asks us to do so.
Within the Foundation, we restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know the information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
How We May Change Our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to review and revise this policy. If we make material changes to this policy, we will post a copy of the revised policy on our web site that describes the changes before they go into effect.
