Getting Started: What to Give
Cash gifts are the simplest way to give. We welcome gifts of all sizes. Tax savings may enable you to give more than you think you can.
Gifts of investment assets such as stock or real estate may be favorable to donors who have taxable gains on assets they have owned for more than one year. Check with us before you sell profitable stocks or investment real estate, vacation property or farm land.
Other Considerations
Why not name the Santa Fe Community Foundation in your will or revocable trust? This is the most common way our supporters give through their estates.
Think about naming the Santa Fe Community Foundation as a beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement account. This is a wise way to give -- withdrawals from retirement assets are otherwise heavily taxed to you or your heirs.
You can even make a gift and get something back. The Santa Fe Community Foundation offers charitable gift annuities which provide a life income to those over 65. Charitable remainder and charitable lead trusts are other vehicles for giving that you may wish to discuss with the Santa Fe Community Foundation and your advisors.
Any of the above gifts will entitle you to be enrolled in our Piñon Legacy Society.
